Brief Description:  BASIC FUSELAGE CONSTRUCT

With the exception of Mark, I don't think the rest of us had any idea how complicated fuselage construction is. It makes the wings look fairly simple. The early. When Bob and Cynthia worked on the fuselage, it was only a small portion of what had to be done. And after the basic structure takes shape, then all the systems have to be installed. This is an area where most of the listed modifications were made, and even in 2007 there are some doublers and stiffeners we still have to install. The Photos below were taken in 2004. Images one and three remind me of cramps in my hand from thousands of clicos. Image two is of the most important structural part of the entire airplane. It's the saddle for the landing gear[pointed upwards in this case] and the attach point for the wing strut. This is one place we better not have to dig into after the airplane is in service.
