Brief Description:  QUAD.,CONTROLS, ASSEMBLY

Throttle quadrant is a typical case of plans not meeting reality. Numerous cuts to fit needed to be made before it would fit into place and the movement would not be awkward to the pilots hand.

We also discovered that the fuel system had two restrictions from 3/8 to 1/4" inner diameter at the fuel flow sensor and at the fuel valve itself. Luckily tests later revealed that the 1/4" restriction is not critical at takeoff fuel flow. Obviously, we'll want to test this for ourselves also.

When it came time to hook up the engine prop controls, we found that we had to remove the quadrant, modify the control leads and cables, and fabricate new brackets or standoffs. We have queried other owners about this, but it seems that each installation is an individual process, even though the engines are basically the same, as is the firewall. Of course, there is no drawing or engine installation instructions, so it's up to us to come up with whatever works. So, a task we thought we had essentially finished, took several hundred hours of contemplation and fabrication.
