Brief Description:  Sanding

Sanding out the left wing. After painting the left wing, we discovered that everywhere we had fabric laying on top of sheet metal that had not been glued to it. We had in numerous spots small bubbles popping up. later after we sanded them out we then had dimples in our paint where the bubbles were.

so we then had to sand out the paint with our Fein Multi function tool with 80 grit paper all the area which had the fabric and metal touching. Then we are going to prime the area again, then sand it again and prep it up for paint. This has been a real problem and caused us a great deal of time fixing.

We now think part of the problem was the fact we were cleaning the wing with 91% Alcohol by applying it to the surface and it was entering the pores and then after painting it the bubbles started forming.

The Right wing has been primed already but in these areas where fabric and metal contact each other we have added 2 more coats of primer with a good sanding in between. It now just needs to be wiped down with a tack rag and painted. No more using the Alcohol.
