Installed the VP-400 Power Distribution Unit. It is mounted over the right hand side of the cockpit just above the rudder pedals and slightly aft. Since I wanted to be able to access the unit a little easier after it was installed I hinged it at the forward end as seen in picture 1. The hinged is riveted to a piece of angle that goes between the center rib and the right hand rib. After fabricated the angle for the aft attachment I installed two K1000-3 nutplates which I can use to bolt the unit up and remove the bolts to swing it down for access. I'm pretty happy with the result overall but it took a long time to make so I didn't get as far as I'd hoped today. I also installed the Display Unit in the panel but I had to trim the center rib for clearance for the back side of the unit.I screwed in the Display Unit and placed the panel back into the airplane. Most of the screws and nuts holding items into the panel were very loose so I tightened everything in. I really wish I had the wings on at this point as I now have to figure out the final wiring of everything.
