Dry fit main spar several times. Only slight adjustment with shims made on pilots side. Shimmed the pilot side spar up with 3 tongue depressors forward by 2 tongue depressors. Set spar into position with help of Ginger and John Cyr.
Leaving overcentering gear mechanism in place was not a real problem, but should have taken it out to make spar placement a lot easier.
