Began by riveting the doubler plates to the two nose wheel fairing brackets. Trial fitted the two fairing halves to the nose wheel and the fit was relative good. Some sanding needed especially to get a 1/2" gap all around the wheel itself.
Match drilled the hinge to the leg fairing which was not an easy job as it was difficult to clamp the hinge in place with such small space to work. Deburred, countersunk and riveted the hinges in place. Again, not easy to do and time consuming. Had difficulting getting the hinges to fit together again. I needed to remove a lot of fibreglass to manage to get the hinges to accept the pin. I think they moved a little when they were riveted in place compared to where they were clamped and match drilled. In the end, it looks really good but I was struggling for while to make the fit happen.
Then fit the fairing to the nose wheel and did another round of sanding and fitting all three fibreglass pieces together. Installed the anchor for the hinge pin and added some RTV sealant to the leg fairing per instructions. Overall pleased with the overall install. Takes a whole lot more time than one would expect.
