Brief Description:  Trimmed Canopy Fairing

Decided to remove the canopy from the fuselage and begin trimming the fairing. Overall the removal was relatively easy. Picture shows the bolt and hold that I needed to cut into the fairing. I will be opening them up some more and adding epoxy/flox to make a clean round final hold.

Used tape outline to help with dremel trimming of the fairing. All went well. With Spencer's help I reinstalled the fairing and after a couple of on/off cycles managed to trim the forward edge to just clear the upper fuselage skin per instructions.

However, made a blunder here. Forced the wrong bolt (longer bolts used for the shock attachment rather than the shorter AN4 bolts for the forward attach point) into the canopy attach nutplate and ended up stripping them! Was not thinking, Will need to order two remplacement ones from Vans which shouldn't be hard to do, but I do feel stupid. Will continue to work on fairing/sanding ect... in the meantime.
