Brief Description:  Finished assembly of both flapperons

Milestone day today, as I completed both flapperons and with that, the full wing kit is also completed.

Started day by removing some of the rivets holding the trailing skins to gain access to the actuation brackets. Decided to replace the pull rivets on the brackets with AN470 rivets. Instructions are not clear, but after looking at some other builder sites, seems everyone I looked at were using six AN470 rivets rather than just three with three other LP4-3 rivets. Was a lot more difficult to install these as I expected given the limited space. Ended up using a small bucking bar and a rivet gun to properly install them.

After that, spent the rest of the time just fitting and riveting the four remaining skins. Hillary came out and helped so some rivetings. Finally, installed the four threaded bearings with the Loctite 243. They will set up overnight and then I'll figure out where to temporarily store the flapperons tomorrow (likely will slide onto the wing stand, but not attach them to the wings just yet.)

So, my wings are now completed with both empannage kit (139 hrs), and wing kit (237 hrs) for a total of 376 hours in 2011 my first build year. After a short winter break, will start the fuse kit sometime in late February/March.
