Brief Description: Epoxied fiberglass to left gear leg
I laid the fiberglass gear fairing from Van's and trimmed the upper and lower ends to match that of my foam and carbon fiber airfoil profile. I made sure that the trailing edge was right between the lines that ran from the leading edge to a point at the rear of the aircraft. These are the same two lines that I established earlier. These lines run exactly parallel from the gear leg down the sides of the aircraft.
I put masking tape on the outside of the gear fairing. This allowed the clamps some more traction to grip properly. I put a mixture of epoxy and microballons on the inside of the gear fairing and on the outside of the carbon fiber. Where the two trailing edges meet I used straight epoxy for maximum adhesion. This leg when sooo much easier and faster than the first. Practice makes perfect.
