Brief Description:  Working of fuel system

Today I shifted my attention to the fuel system. My goal is to identify the key firewall penetrations first. The fuel penetrations and mounting of the pressure regulator is one of them. The EFII system consists of a prefilter, two fuel pumps and an afterfilter that I plan to mount inside the cabin in the center of the floor in front of the spar. This system has to be plumbed into the duplex Andair valve. What my plan is to assemble this center section on the table, plumb it up and then install. This weekend I spent a lot of time measuring and assessing. The plan is to mount the filters on top of the fuel pumps. This will minimize the length of the unit as well as making them accessible for maintenance. Other people have done it this way and it seems logical.

The fuel pump module has the inlet and outlet lined up. To allow my tubing to be orderly I reversed the orientation of the discharge block. Robert with EFII was very helpful on Sat and Sun answering questions that I had and kept me moving right along. Great customer service!! If anyone else does this make sure that the fuel pump assembly is held down on a flat table as the header is secured to the pumps. If you don't the feet will not sit flat. Don't ask how I know.
