Today I am trying to work on loose ends prior to removing the wings. I ordered a new wing root fairing from Vans because I am not happy with the fit of the right fairing. Until it gets here i am working on punch list items.
First I disconnected the aileron controls and flaps so that I can remove the wings.
Then I chamfered down the left rudder cable that was catching as full left rudder deflection is applied. I also turned around the black hole insert so that the larger end was toward the firewall. I did this to the right one several months ago with good success and the left went on to the punch list. Now I can give full rudder deflection without it catching and knocking out the hole insert.
I also reconfigured the elevator linkage so that the stick is sloping 5 degrees forward. I had originally set it at zero degrees.
