Since I have to wait on my replacement wing root fairing from Vans I decided to start working on the main gear fairings. I have to complete these now because I have to get the gear fairing to the bottom of the wing completed while the wings are on the aircraft. Once I complete these tasks I will remove the wings and put them back on their cradle. I will not install the wings until after all the components are transported to the airport for final installation.
I had to carefully raise the aircraft 32". I rigged a chain hoist from the ceiling joists to the engine mount and a floor jack under the tail of the aircraft. I secured the aircraft and installed the two main gears. I now have to spend some time reviewing the drawings and route the brake lines and installation of all of the fairings and wheel pants. This should take a couple of hours to get all of the steps in my head so that I can start the fabrication.
