When I cut the top cowl to fit I marked it off real carefully and trimmed to fit. Looked good. Then I replaced the aluminum pin with the smaller diameter steel pin. Gap appeared. It was only about 1/16" of an inch. I had to address it because I would see it every time I walked by. Prepped the joint by sanding a 60 degree bevel then taped a long stainless shim under to provide support for the filler. My filler is composed of epoxy and cotton flox. Once it has cured I will sand the top, measure out a line offsetting the red Sharpie line, and sand to the line.
