I was working to make the transition from the plexiglass nav cover on the wingtip a little better and took a short cut. I waxed the plexiglass and thought that it would keep the small amount of epoxy from bonding to it. I was wrong. Cannot get it off of the plexiglass. Ordered a new one from Vans.
I am attempting to make a pattern that will allow me to cut a replacement lens by making a fiberglass mold of the inside of the screwed up lens. I covered this lens with PVA. I wish I would have done this to begin with. I will cut this fiberglass to fit this lens and then insert it into the new lens when it arrives. I will then cut the lens exactly to the pattern and hope it fits perfectly. Might have to bed the new one as I did the original ones. If I do it will be minimal.
