Brief Description:  Working our way forward

A good week, five students each session. We are getting into control mounting, wing sockets, and floors. The bottom fuselage skins will be going on soon, perhaps next week. I will say there are LOTS of nutplates, and they do take time.

Little things like, "Hey, we can't quit yet! I gotta finish this" really bring a smile to my face. It is good to see people taking ownership in the quality and workmanship. This is going to be a well-built airplane.

To anyone contemplating a project like this: There are so many rewards, but the need for oversight is great. With a number of groups working on the project, it is possible to get ahead of yourself in an area. So far, this has happened a couple of times, with little problem. It does require someone to keep track of what hasn't been done. Thankfully, the students are to the place where they are usually the ones to catch potential problems.

As a group, we will be working at a Ford Tri-Motor EAA function in a couple of weeks. We will be displaying our craftsmanship, as well as helping with the rides. This should go well.
