Today I removed the connecting rod and hydraulic lifters, then went to work on the four through bolts. I removed these with a slide hammer, which required a couplling between the through bolts and the slider hammer threads. My neighbor and A&P, AI, supplied the slide hammer. The thread of the hammer and the through bolt was the same! My neighbor also lent me a tap. A few minutes on my lathe and the adapter was ready for use. Worked great! I then removed the rest of the case fasteners.
The case is basically ready to split now but I will wait until I have a second person to manage the components as they come apart. At this point
