Brief Description:  Landing Gear Bow Torsional Layups

I placed the landing gear bow trailing side per plans. I used dabs of Bondo to hold it to three long deck screws that I put into my work bench. I layed up the four plys of uni alternating +/- per plans. I "pre-pregged" the plys flat on a sheet of plastic. I made a 90 gram batch per two plys (180 total for four plys). I then mixed up a 40 gram batch to paint resin on the landing gear bow. The leg is covered in two pieces butting together in the middle of the bow. I used my gloved hands to get the plys placed on the landing gear bow. It helps to keep your hands wet with epoxy, which basically happens naturally using this method. I covered the center joint and trailing edge with peel ply.

Total resin 220 grams per half, 440 grams total.
