Gary suggested that I mount the prop to my extension while storing the prop. This should hold the hub stable (it is wood after all!). Anyway I had an extension from the engine I bought and decided to put the prop on that. Ultimately I will be getting an 8 inch extension with a 7 inch prop drive end but this short 6 inch extention will do the job of stabilizing the hub. I also had 5.5 inch bolts with the extension. These are going to be too short and I will need the next lenght up as my stack up with washers and bellvilles is right at 5.5 inch (no thread protrusion). Torqued up to 24 ft/lbs per Gary's written guidance that comes with the prop.
