I bought my nose gear from another builder and it was not painted so I had it powder coated. I then cleaned off the paint where it was not needed. I checked the brass bushings for fit and it only took minor sanding to get them to fit on the nose gear shaft. Once I pressed the bushings into the gear arm there was no way it would slide back into place. I sanded and polished but no luck. I am going to buy a brake hone since it seems to be so far off.
