I reinstalled the tail access covers to verify that they fit with the horizontal stabilizer in all positions. I had to trim them in various places. When I initially made them I had only drilled all the mounting holes with a #40 drill bit in case I needed to adjust something. Now that they are done I went ahead and drilled them out to the required 5/32". I have also decided to install flush rivets where the rear portion connects to the main cover. I dimpled all the holes and will install the rivets after I paint the covers. Where the covers contact the fuselage I added a few extra screw holes at the top and used a sheet metal edger to contour the edges in an effort to try and keep any rain water from getting inside. I will probably also try to use some sort of weather stripping on them as well. The left cover only needs minor sanding on the edges then I'll work on the right side.
