Brief Description: Horizontal Stabilizer and Elevators
Prepared shells with light sanding on all edges. Cut out spar tube holes in shells. Installed spar tube in upper shells and reinforced with fiberglass. Cut the elevators from the horizontal shells. Shaped the foam blocks that extends past the spar to the end of the shell. Installed the foam blocks. Fabricated all the hinges and pins for all the control surfaces. Installed torque tubes with hinges on both elevators. Bonded elevator and horizontal stabilizer shells together. Installed remaining hinges and reinforced hinges with macro in the shape of a wedge with glass on the surface. Cut the spar tube in the middle and bonded the stabilizers to the fuselage and splice tube. Radiused the horizontal stabilizers with macro and glass tape. Formed lead counter wieghts in the elevators.
