The dual carbs on the Rotax 912 were synched. The process involved a mechanical sync followed by a pneumatic sync using the Carbmate tool. This is necessary to ensure both sides of the Rotax engine are producing the same power at all throttle settings. Each change in setting is checked with the Carbmate, then the engine shut down for any additional throttle cable adjustments. This repetitive process is continued until the Carbmate shows no diference in manifold pressure when left and right sides of the engine are compared. Acceptable sych was achieved and idle set to 1600.
