Brief Description:  Odds and ends

The static system check revealed a large leak. The source was eventually narrowed down to lthe static line connection at the AHRS unit in the tailcone. Access required removal of the bagage compartment bulkhead, and reaching back into the tailcone, quite a stretch! Tightening fittings did no reduce the leak, so pipe thread sealant was appllied. This completely eliminated the leak. After extracting myself from the baggage compartment, the bulkhead and interior were replaced.

Final finished tailcone fairing, checked all control limnkages and rudder/stabilator fasteners, and attached fairing.

A recent service bulletin from Vans noted that incorrect engine isolators had been sent to some builders over the past year. I was unable to see the markings on my isolators as they were hidden by the engine mount, air filter, and multiple oil and water lines. the upper engine mounts were removed while holding the engine with a hoist. Both were found to be correct, and reinstalled.
