Brief Description:  Waiting for joint tape to dry so I decide to write

I finally had the potential garage that I felt would be a comfortable place to spend three years in building an airplane. We moved to Indiana in September 2005 and the house was built in 1961. I think it still had the original wiring. The house (and garage) were well built but outdated. The 200-amp electrical service to the house came off a 200-amp fuse box on the side of the detached garage. There was no main breaker in the house, only the fuse on the garage. The electrical service to the garage was a 15-amp breaker in the house wired back through the same conduit that the 200-amp service came into the house on. There was one light bulb and one outlet in the garage. Needless to say this would not do.I had a contractor install a breaker 200-amp service panel in place of the 200 amp fuse box on the side of the garage and I was able to just come through the garage wall with a 100 amp sub-panel. Now the garage is wired with 16 outlets, a bank of 8 fluorescent lights for general lighting and 4 150-watt can lights above the area where I plan to build my main workbench. There should be enough light to perform surgery in there when finished. I also wired in a 30-amp 240-volt outlet for the Craftsman 80-gallon compressor. I installed a copper tubing manifold in the rafters with 4 strategically placed branches that go up out of the manifold for airlines. The manifold slopes to one corner of the garage for drainage. The copper was a pain in the ass but I've read too many stories of exploding PVC airlines and my lines were going to be permanent behind Sheetrock. I also wired in for speakers in the ceiling and hooked up XM radio since I expect the garage to be my home away from home for the next three years. I have insulated all walls and the ceiling and plumbed in an inlet for a natural gas heater (I've worked on too many vehicles out in the middle of winter when I lived in Montana, I want a warm garage). I was installing the Sheetrock when the empannage showed up so I decided to have a contractor do
