Brief Description:  Started on the front spar assembly

Followed Van's instructions on the front spar assembly, match drilled the reinforcement and splice angle inboard of the bend. Then tapered the ends very carefully using a band saw, then file, then scotchbrite wheel until the angels were smooth and tapered.

I was a little nervous bending the reinforcement/splice angless. I used a sectional ruler with 1 degree angle markings to get the required 6 degrees of bend. I later used a digital level to get all the bends within 0.1-0.2 degrees depending on which way the wind was blowing. Close enough.

I then bent the spar channels which was much easier.

I held off on the dimpling and countersinking for the flush rivets so the cleco's would hold better while assembling the spar.
