Brief Description:  Riveted VS skin except rear spar

I clecoed the skin onto the riveted VS spar/ribs and started riveting. I proceeded per the instrucitons starting along the spar and middle main rib. It was a challenge to get the bucking bar square onto the rivet tail. Sometimes I overshot the rivets a little bit, but all appeared acceptable. One thing about the dark green primer is that it takes a flash light to check the shop heads. I have built a previous VS for an RV-9 and used a lighter primer and it was easier to see the rivets (Im starting to regret my primer choice).

I sqeezed the rivets near the edges. I did notice that the -3.5 rivets may be a tad too short, but they were acceptable and that is what Van's gives you for the skin rivets.

I will leave the rear spar off for now for later inspection and/or rivet replacement if needed. Although, all look acceptable to me. No mistakes so far in riveting. The VS will be completed except for fiberglass in less than 20 hours (although most of my time is estimated, I'm not keeping a time log while I'm in the garage).
