I cut some of the cowling seal fabric for the lower cowling air inlet lip. This seal will lie between the lip of the cowl inlet and the baffeling. I decided to make this removable since I have seen several completed RV's with dirty and discolored seals and I wanted to have the option of easily replacing them if needed. I made a backing plate of aluminum, then shaped it to fit the contour of the cowl, then drilled it for plate nuts. After priming I riveted the nut plates and checked the installation. It is a tight fit installing the cowling over the baffles with the seal in place, but this was expected and the seals will loosen up as the break in period elapses.
