Brief Description:  Rivet Cowl Hinges

I sanded the epoxy buildup areas along the forward lit of the cowling, and cleaned all the surfaces in preparation for riveting the hinges. I drilled the hinge halfs that will mount on the cowling. The plans have you drill holes along the hinges to allow better adhesion of the epoxy mix that is used in addition to the rivets in attaching to the cowel. I countersunk the rivet holes on the cowling and deburred all holes in the hinges and cleaned up all surfaces. I then applied epoxy, clecoed the hinges in place and riveted them to the cowel. This required three different batches of epoxy since each individual batch would set before I could rivet all hinges. The hinges came out very nice.
