The aileron control pushrod enters the fuselage below the pilot seats and is a large hole that is exposed to the wing root area. This hole is the source of a lot of cold air entering the cabin and most builders use some kind of seal to prevent this. I got this from Classic Aero Design when I ordered my interior. I had already attached the bracket to the rim of the fuselage hole and now pop-riveted it in place, then attached a foam tape to the rim and to a spot on the control rod.
The seal is nicely made and consists of a sleeve that slips around the control rod then zips up. Each end is secured by a plastic tie. The seal is then attached to the rim around the fuselage hole, and on the control rod. I checked for freedom of movement and found no conflicts, and I could not notice any difference in the control feel with the seal installed.
