Prior to finishing riveting the nut plates on the wing tips, I positioned the VOR antenna inside of the tip. This antenna will receive VOR/ILS signals and is mounted inside the bottom of the right wing. It must be grounded by attaching the antenna's base between the nut plates and the aluminum backing strip. The wing tip attachment screws will then complete the ground connection between the antenna and fuselage. I empoxied the remainder of the antenna to the inside of the wing tip and finished the riveting of the nut plates and antenna.
