Brief Description:  Trim Indication & GPS Antenna

Continuing to troubleshoot items discovered during the engine run I looked at the elevator trim indication. I quickly discovered a disconnected wire from the trim position indicator where it enters the engine monitor control module. I had worked on a wiring harness connector in this area last week when correcting the alternator problem, and probably dislodged this trim wire. It was an easy fix to reinsert and screw down the wire. The trip indication is now normal.

I then tried to see why I wasn't getting satellite reception for the GPS, and began by checking the continuity in the RG400 coax antenna cable. I immediately noted that there is a problem with one of the connectors on this cable as the center wire is making contact with the braided wire somewhere, most likely at a connector. I'll have to order more BNC connectors and remake this.

When I installed the GPS antenna I just used the supplied screws and nuts to attach to the fuselage. This is in an area where I needed two people to install or had to secore the nut with vice grips while I screwed the screw from the outside. A very long and tedious process. I decided to install plate nuts so that removing the GPS antenna in the future will be a simple process.
