Continuing with the AOA installation I cut the hole into the instrument panel for the light display. I will later drill holes above the light display for the dim and test buttons. I then installed the sensors into the left wing. Two sensors are located on the top and the bottom of the wing, with the upper sensor having a drain valve to drain any water that gets into the sensor. This drain requires that an access hole be drilled into the lower wing so that a wire tool can be inserted and the drain valve reached from below. I used a pop rivet (with the center drilled) for the access hole to give it a more finished look. I also placed some plastic conduit between the upper sensor and the access hole, to guide the wire tool to the drain, and to capture any water from the drain and direct it to the access hole, rather than letting water run inside the wing.
