Brief Description:  Prepping the V-Tail

I'm deviating from the build manual slightly when it comes to building the V-tail. Instead of installing the from spar, aligning, then the rear spar and aligning, I'm temporarily assembliing the V-tail core section on the bench. I've secured the 2 spars together with a #6-32 threaded rod, 4 washers and 4 wing nuts. The rod passes through the apex hole on the front spar and the lower hole on the rear spar. When the wing nuts are snuged up the 2 spars are precisely in the alignment they need to be. Then with the cores taped in place the tail oriented as it should be.

At this point the fuselage has been cut and the bulkheads have been trimmed down. I've got a little bit more work to do, but the test fit shows that it will align properly.

BTW, a self-leveling cross beam laser makes it much easier.
