Brief Description: Did wing preparation for covering
I scrubbed all surfaces where glue will be applied with a scotch brite pad soaked in Alumiprep and then thoroughly rinsed with water. I used a compressor and blow gun to blow out rinse water from under gussets, etc. and dried everything with a towel.
I bought a 25 yard roll of adhesive backed Velcro (loop part only) to use all gussets and where the tip boxes meet with the fiberglass wing tips. This should make for a smoother appearance. I tested the Velcro with MEK and a 350 degree iron to make sure it wouldn't disolve or melt. It passed the test. I think it is made of Dacron. I covered all rivets with Dacron medical tape or Velcro loop. I think this will work well.
