Brief Description:  Sad Day

Recieved a call today from Scott McGee George's son, George was at the hanger working on a generator, it was running in the hanger when he noticed fuel was running out of the carberator, when he went to shut off the generator it back fired and caught the fuel on fire, he tried to put it out with a carpet by smothering it , when that didn't work he tried pulling the generator out of the hanger by the pull cord which knocked over the gas can causing an even larger fire. It was at this point that George new he had to retreat to save him self. The hanger then burnt to the ground taking the Bush Caddy and the Cessna 170B 180HP with it. The guy's went back on April the first and cleaned up the debris. I went to the hanger a couple of days later to see the area the hanger was located, there was nothing left except a few steel pieces, I kept a oil cooler bracket that I made as a reminder of the Bush Caddy. Niether plane had insurance on them.
