Today Ellen and I started working on the elevator by separating the ribs then cleco and match drilling the two pieces together with a #30 drill. There are 16 ribs (8 per elevator). We also deburred all the parts associated with the elevators except the skins. Finally, we started clecoing one of the counterweight-ribs (goes on outboard end of each elevator). Got stumped somewhat because the holes do not match up 100%, but this is addressed in the manual. I need to flute the rib some more so that the parts lie flat together. No pictures.
