Brief Description:  Started Riveting the HS Together

Today, Ellen and I were able to put some quality time on the HS. First, we riveted the nose ribs into the skins, which went much better than I thought it would. Second, we riveted inboard ribs to the forward spar. Then I had to drill out a few holes in the skin where I am putting in some 1/8" oops rivets because of my countersinking mistakes. We finished the day blind riveting and normal riveting the forward spar to the backside of the nose ribs, and putting in the oops rivets and the longer rivets needed for my countersinking repair described in an earlier post. The first photo shows the inside of the skins with the nose ribs in; notice the lack of primer on the skins (getting lazy and figure the primer on the ribs is enough). The second just shows how the spar is blind riveted to the nose ribs. It will also be riveted to the skins so it will all interlock.
