Brief Description:  Rudder Work

Last night and today Ellen and I made good headway on the rudder. There are several steps of parts preparation before you actually get started putting things together. The band saw that I bought yesterday surely earned its keep. I couldn't imagine trying to cut the parts out with the snips.Nothing is really confusing except whether or not to drill the holes for one of the nutplates down at the bottom of the rudder where the rudder cables will eventually attach. I believe that we figured it out, and didn't. I hope we are right.Looking at image #2 you would think that it is almost done. Ha! We still have to drill the skin holes and debur and dimple the skin holes. Then we have to take that all apart and continue to the next step.
