Today I continued working on the vertical stabilizer. I took some other RV-10 builders' advice and trimmed about 3/8 inch off the front of the nose ribs to prevent them from denting the outer skin outward. I hope that I didn't screw it up. I know I infringed a little on the minimum edge distance from a rivet on the flanges (can't see it in the photo), but I don't think that it is at a critical structural point. The ribs look a little rough in the photo, but they will be primed anyway. The main thing is that they are deburred and structurally sound. With Ellen's help, dimpling the skins with the C frame was pretty simple. I had hoped to be farther along than I ended up, but as other builders know, one step can take a couple of hours because of the multiple implied tasks that are associated with it. Hopefully, I will be ready to start some riveting tomorrow.
