Brief Description: Rolled Leading Edge on Second Elevatior and Rivete
Today before work, Ellen and I bent the leading edge of the second elevator (I forget if it was the left or right as of this writing). It went much faster than the other one because we didn't bother with rolling it with a 1 1/4" pipe followed by a 3/4" one. Instead we just did the 3/4" pipe and it seemed to work out just as well. After that, we drilled the #30 holes and then blind-riveted with AD41 rivets. I think I might drill out a couple after rivet the other elevator because they are not 100% flush like I want them to be. Of course Murphy struck when I was putting the elevator away. The wind pushed the door into the trailing edge. Maybe it was luck that it his the corner that was bent a little anyway. I will work on straightening out when I attach it to the airplane for the final time. I would also like someone's assistance who is more knowledgeable in metal-working than I am.
