I thought it would be easier to trim the bottom of the vertical stabilizer while the upper skin is still open to make for easier access to the stabilizer mount bolts. I trimmed the stabilizer skins about 1/8" to accept the bottom edge seal with a Dremel tool EZ Lock cut-off disk. It worked fine, but you have to be careful not to nick the spars!
