Brief Description:  This could of been a big Oops

Finished the Nose landing gear. While drilling the cotter pin hole in the strut for the big fork nut, the drill bit broke off down in the bottom of the hole. HOW DO I GET THAT OUT?. I could just barly feel a dimple on the back side of the hole where the broken bit was about to emerge when it broke. the bit was a 3/16 inch colbalt bit. After fussing about a bit trying to back the broked tip out the hole (not going to happen) I decided to just try to drill through with the size bigger drill. It worked (to my complete surprise) the broke bit tip emerged in pieces after about 10 minutes of drilling. I then cleaned up the hole two steps oversize, which I needed to get the hole lined up with the other side of the castelated nut anyway. Big rellief.
I noted that the grease fitting was not lubricating the inner surface of the fork bearing, but the grease was going between the outer bearing surface and the fork housing. So I clamped the bearing and drilled thru with a small dimeter drill. Now the grease flows to the bearing/strut interface surface where it should.
