Brief Description:  Drilled-up nose gear strut

Drilled the nose gear strut and support truss. Trued up the strut with the aid of a wood jig and drilled thru th truss pilot to mark the hole location. Started with a #11 drill in the drill press using "ulta lube" cutting fluid, colbalt dit and low speed 620 rpm. Then steped up the drill size in 1/64 increments dilling first the hole in the truss without the strut in place, then with the the strut in pllace the start of the strut hole, then the hole all the way thru on the drill press and then the backside hole in the truss with the strut in place. Then repeated the process with the next higher drill size. Finished with a "D" size bit (did not use the 6.2 mm size recomended in the plans) and then reamed with a .249 reamer. Worked fine although two high speed drill bits went dull and had to buy new ones.
