Brief Description: Cut the NACA vents in the fwd side skins
I wasted a lot of time trying to come up with a fail-safe way of cutting the vent holes in the side skins. I made a template out of scrap aluminum that I thought I could use as a guide. However, after talking to Sharon and Don, S-19 builders up in the San Juan Islands, I discovered that it was easier to just mark the vent outline on the skin with a sharpie and cut out the hole free hand. I used a dremel tool with a 1.5" dia metal cutting disk. I left about a 1/16" excess and filed the excess down with a flat file. In the end it was easy and only took about 2 hours per hole.
