Brief Description:  Wing spar cap angles

Tried the .040 on my neighbors siding brake. Didn't even want to budge it. The next step was to beef up the 8' brake again with a support in the middle to keep the clamp from bowing at all.

Made up another support for under the brakes inverted L shaped clamp out of 3/4 inch aluminum bar. Drilled and tapped the bracket for two 1/4 inch bolts and drilled a hole through the middle for a 5/16 bolt 4" long. Halway through Geoff called to see if he could stop by and pick up his center punch. Once he got here he looked at the problem with me and we put a few flutes in the skin flange side in the first piece I made and got the part to lay flat on the table. Figured I'd still continue with the mods to the big brake so that I don't have to tweak each cap angle.

After I got the support mounted on the inside of the clamp my neighbor Craig stopped by. In the course of talking about everything under the sun he helped me lift the clamp off the brake and I then drilled through the top of the clamp using the 5/16 inch hole I drilled previously as a guide. We then put the clamp back on and I drilled through from the top and installed a 5/16 inch bolt. Got the spar blank we tried this morning and set it up and made the bend. Came out nice and flat. Will cut 3 more spar cap angle blanks and bend them tonight.
