Sanded endges of the Cowlings with 220 grit sand paper on a sanding block. Pg. 38-03 Step 1: Cut two 22" F-12115 Side Hinges from AN257-P3 hinge. Step 2: Trimmed the Cowl Hinge Pins-L&R to 26" length. Step 3: Made the F-1201J Upper Cowl Hinge Pin with a 1-3/16" bend and 27-1/2" length. Bent the pin to the shape of the installed hinge. Step 4: Made the F-1201K Upper Cowl Hinge Pin with a 1-3/16" bend and 14-1/2" length. Bent the pin to the shape of the installed hinge. Step 5: Made the two F-12117 Lower Cowl Hinge Pins with a 1-3/16" bend and 11" length. Step 6: Made the two F-12116 Mid Cowl Hinge Pins with a 1-3/16" bend and 4-1/2" length. Step 7: Ground the ends of the pins for the aft hinges to an offset point to assist their installation.
