Brief Description:  Canopy Stripe

Finish sanded the tip-up canopy forward fiberglass fairing. Now ready for painting. Began layup of for a fiberglass cover over the rollbar area. This will be used to cover the gap between the tip-up canopy and the rear window, and will cover the hold down screws for an improved appearance. Used electical tape to mask off the areas where the fiberglass will adhere. Then used modeling clay to close the gap between the canopy and rear window to prevent sagging of the fiberglass layup and waxed tape over rear window to prevent sticking of the fiberglass. Cut fiberglass cloth into strips of decreasing width and laid strips onto canopy intersection. First strip of carbon fiber for extra strength. Final strip wide enough to cover all previous layers for a nice finish. Applied peel ply over layup to help improve finish. Now just need to wait for fiberglass to setup!
