Began work on Filtered Air Box. Filed carburetor mounting plate to fit and attached with four bolts and secured these bolts with anti twist locks. Clamped FAB mounting plate to carburetor and cut to proper length to fit into cowling. Then rotated to align with cowl air inlet. Adjusted mounting plate to allow maximum clearance from sides of cowling. Then marked and drilled holes to fit FAB mounting plate to carburetor mounting plate. Made side clips and mounted clips and platenuts in holes drilled. Cut the air door to fit and also cut the alternate air door in the FAB mounting plate. Then fabricated the hinges to length with a spacer and drilled for rivets. After deburring and countersinking and testing for fit, riveted the air door and hinges together. Also cut and mounted the air door actuator and cable end. Cut a standoff for the air door cable and finally riveted the air box body to the mounting plate.
