Brief Description:  Acid wash & prime components

After weighing up all the pros and cons, I have chosen to prime all internal components of this RV-12.
Following advice from Don and Lloyd (Paintcare Aerospace, Tullamarine), I have decided to use Phosphoric Acid wash (Alumiprep or equivalent) to clean all components prior to spraying them with 2 part epoxy primer (BMS10-11).

The mixing ratios are:

1 part Phosphoric Acid to 5 parts water (20% solution)
1 part BMS10-11 primer to 1 part epoxy

Don and Lloyd have advised me of the dangers of these products, and stressed the need to use appropriate protection measures including a top of the line cartridge repirator, eye goggles, nitrile gloves and a full protective overall when spraying.

I intend to listen to their advice, even if I do look like an alien!!
