Brief Description:  Canopy

Had a friend over for several hours and took the very warm canopy into my extremely warm workshop (lots of propane burning) to fit the canopy. This is because 2 weeks prior just checking the canopy it cracked in half with a loud pop in the freezing cold, and it was freezing as well. Big horrible lesson learned. This time the canopy behaved, it cut beautifully on my dull bandsaw blad & dremel. All cuts and drilling were melting the plastic instead of cutting. Came out nice - really perfect lines from the windshield to the turtledeck - perfect Sonex arc. Yes! Then did a lot of fine tuning/filing of the canopy latch to get it to fit tight and fully engage. Also did cabin heat dump-out fitting on cowling bottom, and straightened vertical tail fiberglass tip. Spent time grinding oil sump fins on engine. Soldered and wired & tested ptt buttons and assembled dual control sticks. Routed ptt wiring with sticky-backs and wire ties for good clearance form control assembly.
